Ronald Duane Dorssom, 83, of Atchison, KS died on Wed. July 8th, 2026, at Stormont Vail Hospital, Topeka, KS.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM on Friday, July 17th, 2026, at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Cormode officiating. Burial will follow in Lancaster Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, July 16th, 2026, at the funeral home. Ronald was born on August 21, 1942, in the family home in Lancaster, KS., the son of Elmer and Evelyn (Icks) Dorssom. He worked as a warehouseman for Ford Motor Company for over 37 years. He had also been a freight truck driver and dirt track racer. He attended the Cummings Christian Church, was a member of the United Auto Workers Union. He enjoyed hunting pheasants, and camping.
Ronald was married to Sandra Hale in 1962. They were later divorced. He was married to Darlene S. Nyhart on Aug. 30, 1981. She survives of the home. Additional survivors include a son Dean Dorssom, Lancaster, KS, a stepson Rob Robbins, Indianapolis, IN, a stepdaughter Sheryl Robbins-Johnson, Phoenix, AZ, a brother Randy Dorssom, Lancaster, KS, three grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. His parents, two brothers Don and Chuck Dorssom, and a sister Sharon Phillips preceded him in death.
