Harold Wayne Wilson, 79, of Atchison KS died on Sunday, July 12th, 2026, at Amberwell Atchison.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM on Thursday, July 16th, 2026, at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Cormode officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Effingham, KS. The family will receive friends from 10:30 AM to 11:30 Am on Thursday morning at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Forest of Friendship or the Atchison County Fair Association and may be sent to the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home. Harold was born on April 15, 1947, in Atchison KS, the son of Charles Everett and Madeline Zeta (Barber) Wilson. He graduated from Atchison High School in 1965. He attended Emporia College for a year and a half. Harold worked with his brothers as a pattern maker for Wilson Pattern, Atchison from 1981-1983. He worked in the machine shop for Kitterman Plastics for 20 years, he then worked for Wenger Manufacturing Company, when he retired. He enjoyed flying model planes, riding motorcycles, working on antique cars, especially his 1932 Dodge. He was an artist doing paintings, and pictures of family. He especially enjoyed his dog, Sammy.
He was married to Mary Layton in 1968. They were later divorced. He was married to Elva Acheson on June 25, 1988. She survives of the home. Additional survivors include a son Donald (Rae) Wilson, Tacoma WA, a daughter Jan (Brian) Stone, Easton, MO, brothers Gary Wilson, Atchison and Robert Darrell (Rosalee) Wilson, Atlanta, GA, five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. A former son-in-law David Low, Effingham. His parents, brothers Lloyd L. Wilson, Charles Richard Wilson, sisters Florence, Delores, and Carol Wilson, and Zeta Gordon preceded him in death.
