(KLZA)-- Richardson County Sheriff Rick Hardesty met with County Commissioners last Wednesday. He reported that two deputies will be completing their training at the Law Enforcement Academy in Grand Island on August 20.

Purchasing a patrol unit for the Sheriff's Department was discussed. Commissioners will consider the request at a later meeting after they review the proposed budget document.

The Board authorized Emergency Management Agency Director Brian Kirkendall to offer a surplus large format printer at the Emergency Management Office for sale on the gov.deals auction site.

Sherry Huddleston, representing the House of Hope updated the Board on the progress of the organization. The group is requesting the County's OPIOID settlement funds be used to assist the organization and its' program. Commissioners suggested a formal letter be presented to the Board with the request outlining how the funds would be utilized.

Board members also voted to set the rate for mileage reimbursement at 76 cents per mile, an increase from the current rate of 72.5 cents per mile.
