Laticia A. 'Tish' Martindale, 86, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family after a long courageous battle with COPD.
Tish was born on November 30, 1939 at Highland, KS. She spent most of her life in Hiawatha, KS where she built a life centered on family, kindness, and love. She was a devoted homemaker and for many years worked alongside her husband with the family business.
More than anything, Tish cherished her family: her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the joy of her life, and she treasured every moment spent together. Family picnics created many happy memories and she delighted in simple pleasures such as reading, putting together puzzles, crocheting and spending countless hours creating beautiful diamond art pieces.
Tish will be remembered for her gentle spirit, kind heart and the unconditional love she shared with everyone around her. Her warmth and compassion touched many lives and her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her children: Kathy (Daymon) Scriven of Springfield, MO, Sherry (Gil) Werner of Topeka, KS, Karen Martindale of White Cloud, KS, and Lori Martinson of Hiawatha, KS; her grandchildren: Justin Scholl; Leslie (Sean) Smith, Tyler (Jessica) Scriven, Staci (Duke) Bouskill, Regina (Jeylen) Behrens, Brent (Ashley) Behrens, Jeremy Boyd, Sarah Lunsford, Josh (Kim) Martinson, Heather Martinson, and Tiffany (Casey) Tucker; 22 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
She is also survived by her brothers: Richard Blanton (Judy) of Topeka, KS and Larry Blanton (Twilla) of Hiawatha, KS.
Tish was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Larry Martindale on February 7, 2022, her sister Wanda Rhodd, brothers: Gail Blanton and Darrel Blanton
Graveside memorial services are planned for 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 28, at Cornelison Cemetery, east of Reserve. Stephanie Farr will officiate.
