Gene Ramer, Jr., 63, of Falls City, NE, passed away September 10, 2026 at Omaha, NE. He was born October 4, 1962 at Falls City to Eugene and Elaine (Liebsch) Ramer, Sr.
He married Lisa Hinz on July 14, 1984 at Falls City
JR joined the Nebraska National Guard on November 23, 1985 and served until February 28, 2005.
JR was raised in Falls City and graduated from Falls City Sacred Heart in 1981. He then attended Peru St. College and then worked as a security guard at Cooper Nuclear Station until 1986. He then became an over the road truck driver, starting Ramer Transportation in 2005. He also served as a Sherrif’s Deputy for Richardson County from 2009 until 2011. In 2012 he started Ramer Outfitters. He continued driving over the road and also hauled grain for local farmers.
He enjoyed motorcycles, hunting and fishing, supporting the military and most importantly, his family.
JR is survived by his wife, Lisa of Falls City, sons, Josh and his wife Gabby, Toby and his wife Amber both of Falls City and Eli and his wife Aimee of Bellevue, NE, four grandchildren with two on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Peggy Vaughn.
His funeral will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2026 at 10:30 AM at First United Methodist Church with Pastor Michelle Lessard officiating. Interment will be in Steele Cemetery. Military graveside honors by Falls City Ceremonial Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6-8:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
