Kenny Ray Jerome, 65, of Circleville, Kansas, passed away at his home on Tuesday, September 15, 2026.
He was born April 8, 1961, in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Kenneth Raymond and Rose Lee (Richard) Jerome. Kenny graduated from Jackson Heights High School in 1979.
On November 16, 1990, Kenny was united in marriage to Delpha “Lynn” Edwards in Oskaloosa, Kansas. They shared more than 32 years of marriage before Lynn passed away on October 7, 2023.
Kenny owned and operated Jerome’s Liquor Store with his wife, Lynn, for more than 22 years.
Kenny enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his dogs. He took great joy in telling everyone how to do things—even if he was wrong. Most of all, Kenny loved giving his family and friends plenty of “grief.” His humor, teasing, and larger-than-life personality will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Kenny is survived by his sister, Annetta Browning of Circleville, KS; nephews, Denny Browning (Patricia) of Bushton, KS, and Matt Browning (Lisa) of Circleville, KS; niece, Rochelle Browning of Circleville, KS; step-son, Terry Nichols (Debbie) of Valley Falls, KS; 2 aunts, Helen Slattery and Della Steinlage both of Topeka, KS; uncle Dean Jerome (Brenda) of Roeland Park, KS; great-nieces and great-nephews, Deanna, Drayton Browning, Keaton DeWalt (Kendall), Alex Browning (Annie), Talen Browning, Brody Browning, Colten Browning, and Karma Carlson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Rose; his wife, Lynn; great-niece, Heather S. Browning; and step-son, Travis Nichols.
Memorial visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton, Kansas, where family will greet friends.
A private family inurnment will take place at a later date at Ontario Cemetery, 286 Road, Circleville, Kansas 66416.
