Iola Ewing, 92, of Falls City, NE, passed away October 3, 2026 at Falls City. She was born January 22, 1934 at Salem, NE to Elsworth and Laura (Porter) Jackson
She married Robert L. Ewing on March 27, 1950 at Humboldt, NE. He passed away December 25, 2003.
Iola was raised in Salem and attended Salem High School. When married the couple made their home in Oregon where they operated a furniture store for six years, before moving back to Falls City. She then became a licensed beautician and worked as a beautician in Falls City for over 60 years, retiring in 2016. She enjoyed growing flowers, the outdoors, Husker football, Kansas City Chiefs and her family. She was a very good cook and baker and loved doing that for large family gatherings. She was a member of the First Christian Church and a life member of Falls City Elks Lodge.
Iola is survived by a son, Robert, Jr. and his wife Deanna of Falls City, step-daughters, Joan Bagg and her husband Doug of Lakeland, FL, Rolene Garza and her husband Joe of Stanley, KS, brother, Ervin Jackson of Holdrege, NE, sister, Ruby Smith of Wathena, KS, grandchildren, Bobby (Kara) Ewing and Sarah (Kyle) Bangert both of Falls City, great-grandchildren, Austin, Emmett, Elliott and Dawson Bangert, Kalix, Blakely and Oaklyn Ewing, great-great-grandchild, Aspyn Bangert, five step-grandchildren and several step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four sisters and two brothers.
Her memorial service will be held on Friday, October 9, 2026 at 10:30 AM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home with Pastor Grant Speece officiating. Inurnment will be in Steele Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
