William Runkles, Sr., 75, of Falls City, NE, passed away November 1, 2026 at Falls City. He was born January 19, 1951 at Brownville, NE to John and Helen (Hor) Runkles

He married Leora Cuffman in 1970 at Nebraska City, NE. She passed away June 7, 2023.

William enlisted in the United States Navy on March 11, 1969 at Omaha, NE. He earned a National Defense Service Medal and was honorably discharged on April 24, 1970 at Norfolk, VA.

William was raised in Auburn, NE and when married the couple established their home in Nebraska City before moving to Auburn and then Minneapolis, KS and into Falls City in 1994 where he was employed at Woodings Verona until his retirement.

William is survived by his son, William, Jr. of Falls City, a brother and two sisters, five grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter, Christina Ahlquist and a sister.

Mr. Runkles has been cremated and a graveside service is currently pending.
