With Thanksgiving right around the corner, the STEP Foundation is celebrating the season of giving by distributing grant funding to three local organizations that serve Nemaha County communities.
Best Life Community Services, which supports individuals affected by intellectual and developmental disabilities, received an $8,200 grant from the General Fund, Chad Baker Memorial Fund, and Glen J. Meyer Fund. The funding allowed the organization to purchase a wheelchair lift van to better assist its residents.
USD 115 Nemaha Central also received a $4,000 grant from the CNB/CNB Custody/Invisor Underprivileged Children Fund. The funds provide coats, hats, shoes, and other necessities to children in need within the district.
The final grant distribution was for $3,000 to Kasha Rebant in support of the recent Sabetha Playground Project. Kasha Rebant shared the impact of the Sabetha Playground Partners new playground thanks to the help of the STEP Foundation. “Thank you so much to the Nemaha County STEP Foundation for investing in the lives of children and families in our community through your generous support of the inclusive playground project. The new design has already created opportunities like never before for children and adults of all abilities to play and socialize
together. Our hope is that this playground will continue to serve as a space for children and adults of all abilities to enjoy the many benefits of play. Thank you for your generosity towards this mission.
