The month of December was a busy one for FFA members. Monday, December 15, the Falls City FFA chapter attended district LDE’s at Weeping Water High School. Members Malori Kuker, Breean Eickhoff, Ethan Morris, Brock Niedfeldt, Bowdy Jones, and Dayton Snethen competed in the Parliamentary Procedure competition. They took a written test and gave a demonstration. Members Knox Davis, Elin Vonderschmidt, Hunter Pingel, and Caroline Powell competed in Creed Speaking. They recited the FFA Creed and answered 3 questions about the Creed. Member Elijah Leyden competed in Extemporaneous speaking. Where he wrote a 4-6 minute speech in 30 minutes and presented it. After the members were finished with their competitions lunch was provided consisting of pizza, chips, and cookies. The day concluded with awards. The Parliamentary Procedure team received 3rd place, with a purple ribbon and bronze medals, qualifying for state. In Creed Speaking, Caroline and Elin earned blue ribbons, and Knox earned a purple. In the Extemporaneous division, Elijah Leyden received a blue ribbon.
Friday, December 19, the Falls City FFA Chapter received a generous donation from Golden Harvest on behalf of representatives Jimmy Jared and Rick Karas. This donation will be used to support the chapter and members when attending competitions, conferences, and conventions to buy meals or pay for transportation. Thank you to Jimmy Jared, Rick Karas, and Golden Harvest for their generous donation. It is greatly appreciated! The Chapter is looking forward to the spring semester with finishing state degrees, career development events, FFA week and so much more.
