Representatives from Nemaha Valley Community Hospital & Seneca Family Practice, Sabetha Community Hospital/sabetha Family Practice, and Nemaha County EMS played in a Medical Response Surge Exercise (MRSE) facilitated by Nemaha County KS Emergency Management. This exercise was conducted state-wide and was created by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment and a planning committee comprised of health officials and emergency managers, including our very own EM director (Eddie Aldrine).
This exercise was conducted in response to the FIFA World Cup coming to the Kansas City Metro this summer. In the exercise's scenario, a strong line of severe thunderstorms impacted the state during the World Cup, causing over SEVEN HUNDRED patients across the state including several in Nemaha County. Exercises such as this one helps our local area healthcare partners work together to deal with a complex incident in a no-fault environment.
