The Nemaha County STEP Foundation is pleased to announce the recipients of the Leroy “Roy” Heiman Memorial Scholarship. Established in partnership with the Heiman family, this scholarship honors Roy’s legacy by supporting the educational goals of local students living in the old B&B school district.
The 2026 Roy Heiman Memorial Scholarship recipients are:

Daughter of John and Pamela Deters
Plans to attend Kansas State University, majoring in the College of Art Sciences - Kamden Schmitz
Son of Justin and Janelle Schmitz
Plans to attend Kansas State University, majoring in Agriculture - Brooklyn Uphaus
Daughter of Briana Uphaus
Plans to attend Kansas State University, majoring in Healthcare
