We are proud to announce Merle Veigel as the Grand Marshal of the 2026 Cobblestone Parade!
A 1966 graduate of Falls City High School, Merle has spent decades serving and strengthening the Falls City community. He enjoyed a long career with First National Bank, now F&M Bank-, serving as President of both institutions before retiring and continuing his service as a member of the Board of Directors.
Merle also dedicated an incredible 35 years to the Falls City Board of Public Works, including many years as Chairman, helping oversee the utilities that serve our community.
His commitment to Falls City extends far beyond his professional career. Over the years, Merle has served with the Falls City Rotary Club, Falls City Student Aid Fund, Falls City Educational Foundation, Community Medical Center Foundation, Falls City Industrial Development Corporation, Richardson County Policy Board, and Sacred Heart Catholic School Foundation. He has also been active at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church and is a longtime member of the Clefsmen.
Merle's decades of leadership, volunteerism, and dedication to Falls City make him a wonderful choice to lead this year's Cobblestone Parade.
Please join us in congratulating Merle Veigel, our 2026 Cobblestone Grand Marshall.
