Heroes don’t always wear a uniform—sometimes, they’re the neighbor standing right beside us, ready to act when it matters most. Kirk Simone was recently honored with a Life-Saving Award by Mayor Bishop and Chief Ashcraft after his heroic actions helped save the life of a young Silver Lake resident.

His quick thinking, courage and willingness to step in made a life-changing difference. Silver Lake is proud to recognize Kirk and grateful for neighbors who look out for one another. This is what makes a small town special—people stepping up, lending a hand and being there when their community needs them most.
