Morrill Library had a wonderful time celebrating Halloween with our community! This year's festivities included a special visit from Miss Kansas, Sophie Lewis, who joined us for storytime on the courthouse steps following the Afternoon Parade. She greeted families and little ones while reading three Halloween favorites: The Little Old Lady Who Was Not Afraid of Anything, Plumply, Dumply Pumpkin, and Hardly Haunted.

We also handed out LOTS of candy to the hundreds of trick-or-treaters who stopped by our cauldron! The costumes and creativity were amazing, and we loved seeing everyone come out to celebrate.

Our Literary Character Pumpkin Decorating Contest was another big hit, with six creative entries and plenty of votes both in the library and online!

Congratulations to our winners:

• Adult: Kiki's Delivery Service – Abigail Enke

• Middle/High School: I Spy – Lizzy Umland

• Elementary: The Bad Seed – Scarlett Prescavage

A big thank-you to all of our pumpkin decorating participants, including Lindsay Hooper (Princess Donut), Riley Fischer (Coraline), and Charlotte Verbick (Pete the Cat).
