Ruthie Marie Greene, 62, of Horton, Kansas, passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at the Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka, Kansas. She was born on July 17, 1951 in Forrester, Arkansas the daughter of Roy and Eunice Chambers Carter. Ruthie worked as a LPN Nurse in several nursing homes for years. She then became a waitress and cook at various restaurants, mostly recently at the Golden Eagle and Sac-N-Fox Casino. On January 16, 1979 she married Alan "Rocky" Greene in Topeka, Kansas. He preceded her in death on October 16, 2006. Survivors include, three daughters, Tiffeny Greene (Pete Ranjel) of Wetmore, Kansas, Tammy Moore of Horton, Kansas and Tracy Craine of Powhattan, Kansas; three sons, Alan(April) Greene Jr. of Horton, Kansas, David Moore of Independence, Missouri and Patrick Carter of Plano, Texas; sister, Betty Bostwick of Colorado Springs, Colorado; three brothers, Larry Joe Carter of Fayette, Missouri, Richard Carter of Little Rock, Arkansas and Royce Wayne Carter of Frisco, Texas; thirteen grandchildren. Funeral service will be at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas where the family will greet friends from 9:30 to service time. Burial will be at the Kennekuk Cemetery on the Kickapoo Reservation. Memorials may be made to the Ruthie Greene memorial fund and may be sent in care of the mortuary.
