Clara R. Chase, 86, Wathena, Kansas formerly ofAtchison, Kansas died Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at the Wathena Healthcare Center.

Funeral services will be Sunday, March 18, 2012 at 2:00P.M. in the chapel of Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Zieglerofficiating.  Interment will followin Doniphan Cemetery.  Visitationwith the family will be Sunday, March 18th from 12:30 until time ofservices at the funeral home. Clara was born April 8, 1925 in Kansas City, Kansasthe daughter of George and Nellie North Meidinger.  She moved with her family as a child to Doniphan, Kansaswhere she attended Doniphan Elementary School and Doniphan High School.

She and Floyd Chase were united in marriage onSeptember 19, 1942 in St. Joseph, Missouri.  Mr. Chase preceded her in death in 2001.

Clara was employed as an aide for the AtchisonHospital and also worked for Saunders Manufacturing Company of Atchison. Sheenjoyed gardening, tending to her flowers and was an avid seamstress.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and amember of the church quilting group. She formerly served as a Leader of the Doniphan Star 4-H Club.

Survivors include two daughters, Diana Stone, KansasCity, MO, Joan Dove, Topeka, KS, three sons, Billy Lee Chase, St. Joseph, MO,George F. Chase, Beattie, KS, Gary D. Chase, Laurie, MO, a sister, Maryann, twohalf-sisters, Mary Alice and Joann, two half-brothers, Dean and Walter,thirteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and one great-greatgranddaughter.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Marjorie Mallosand a brother, Charles Blockburger.
