Barbara A. Bottenberg, 78, of Topeka, formerly of Holton, passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka.

   She was born July 9, 1935 in Soldier, Kansas the daughter of Robert “Bob” and Marjorie (Johnson) Chrisman.  She graduated from Holton High School in 1953.  On August 14, 1955 Barbara married Warren D. Bottenberg. She was a homemaker, a member of the Topeka Guild and a member of First United Methodist Church in Holton.

   Barbara is survived by: her husband Warren, of Topeka, KS; her daughters Kim Tegethoff (Dennis “Teg”) of Holton, KS, Kassy Bottenberg (Vernon Johnson) of Emporia, KS and Kari Bottenberg of Holton, KS; her sister, Debbie White of Phoenix, AZ; her brother, Ronald Chrisman of Topeka, KS; and her 6 grandchildren, Justin Brock, Janelle Fannin, Robert Riley, Jo Ann Akers, Kenton Tegethoff and Krista Akers and 2 great-grandchildren, Chelsea Brock and Brock Fannin with another great granddaughter on the way.

   The family will greet friends 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 10, 2014 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton.  There will be a private family service later with burial in Holton Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Midland Hospice House c/o Mercer Funeral Home P.O.
