Merna N. Kirkdendall, 94, of Falls City, NE, passed away August 21, 2014 at Falls City. She was born July 17, 1920 at Barada, NE to the late Tillman and Bessie (Ramer) Vice.

On April 15, 1939 she married Roy E. Kirkendall at Topeka, KS. He passed away July 19, 2014.

Merna was raised in the Barada and Shubert, NE areas. The couple established their home in Barada when married and later moved to Verdon, NE then moved to Falls City, NE in 1959 and has lived here since. Merna had been employed at Falls City Creamery, Baker’s Bakery, Hinky-Dinky Grocery Store, The Vogue and Brown Shoe Fit Co. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Falls City.

Merna is survived by her sons, Ronald and his wife Janyce of Falls City, Daniel of Branson, MO, daughters, Connie Brown and her husband Leonard of Falls City, Cheryl McCann of Falls City and Richard McCann of Big Lake, MO, eleven grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 25, 2014 at 10:30 AM at First Christian Church with Reverends Fay Ann Blaylock and Paul Weinert officiating. Interment will be in Harris Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 7-8:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
