Frank K. McQueen

Frank K. McQueen, 95, died peacefully Monday morning, June 30, 2014, in Millbrae, California.  

Frank was born in Sparks, Kansas, June 25, 1919, lived in Highland, Hiawatha and was a long time resident of South San Francisco, Calif.  He worked at Pan American World Airways as an avionics supervisor for 37 years at San Francisco Airport.  Frank was the person Pan Am upper management  consulted when serious problems with electronic equipment occurred.   He also ran a TV repair business from his home. Many in the Bay Area will remember him as the TV repairman who made house calls. As Frank's health declined he never complained and always had a positive attitude and a smile for everyone. To the end his hearing was acute and his eyesight was perfect.  Frank, a Christian, now joins his wife, Vera (Nigus), who preceded him in death in 2002.  

 He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Diane (Paul) Roberts, South SF, Mrs. Susan (Stephen) Bell, San Mateo, Calif.,  Mrs. Patricia (Robert) Baker, Pendleton, New York; two sons, David (Edna),  Livermore, Calif. and Kenneth (Patricia), Hayward, Calif.;  also one brother, James C. McQueen, Hiawatha, Kansas;  two sisters, Valetia M Stewart, Deer Island, Oregon, and Millicent G Bell, Fort Morgan, Colorado; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. 

Family and friends will gather at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Hiawatha from 1 until 1:30 Monday afternoon, September 22, with memorial services beginning at 1:30.  Mike McQueen will officiate.  Inurnment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Hiawatha.
