Kenneth Frank “Kenny” Wessel, 68, Goff, died September 21, 2014, at the University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City, KS, surrounded by his family. He was born February 15, 1946, at Seneca, the son of Vincent Frank and Clara “Marie” (Nolte) Wessel.

He was grounds superintendent at Mount Hope Cemetery and later at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery before retiring on March 31st for health reasons. He was an avid Minneapolis-Moline farm tractor collector and loved the tractor shows and drives. Kenny loved the outdoors – hunting, fishing, and farming.

Surviving are his life companion: Linda Allen of the home; daughter: Jennifer Bean Blake (Gary) of Carson City, NV; step-daughter: Amie Hoss of Topeka; siblings: Mary Wentz (Bill) of Carmel, IN. Lester Wessel (LaVita) of Topeka, Leo Wessel (Nancy) of Goff, Maurice Wessel (Jane) of Maple Hill, Alice Riley of Mayetta, David Wessel (Delores) of Holton, Grace Bowser (Mike) of Mayetta, and Marvin Wessel (Debra) of Lansing; and grandchildren: Allicia, Jacob and Andrew Blake and Hannah and Nicholas Hoss.

Kenny was preceded in death by his father, Vincent; his mother, Marie Wessel Mulroy; and step-father, Jerry Mulroy.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Friday, September 26, 2014, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Avenue, Topeka. Graveside services will be at 12:00 noon at Wetmore Cemetery.

Kenny will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Thursday, at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:30 PM.
