Marilyn Kay Kenward, 70, Effingham, Kansas died Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital, Lincoln, Nebraska.

Private family burial services will be held. Visitation with the family and a Celebration of Marilyn’s life will be Monday, October 6th from 6:30 until 8:30 P.M. at 708 North 14th Street, Atchison, Kansas, family and friends are welcome to attend. Memorial contributions are suggested to Atchison Animal Control and may be left in care of Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home, 208 North 5th Street, Atchison, Kansas 66002. Marilyn was born February 22, 1944 in Holton, Kansas the daughter of Kenneth and Jesse Mae Hollis Conger. She attended schools in Effingham, graduating from Atchison County Community High School.

She and Frank Kenward were united in marriage in July of 1966 in Melbourne, Florida. Mr. Kenward preceded her in death in 1968.

Marilyn served as a kitchen manager with Atchison Valley Hope.

Survivors include her daughter, Alison (Corey) Ostertag, Lancaster, KS, her sister, Alma Jean (Jake)Tinsley, Willow Springs, MO, five grandchildren, Josh (Nina) Ostertag, Courtney Richardson, Jeremiah Ostertag, Alyssa Richardson, Hunter Ostertag and two great grandchildren, McKinzie and Aedan Ostertag, nephew, Kenny (Pam) Tinsley and their daughter, LeeAnn Tinsley, a niece, Marylin Hartel-Groves.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Richard Conger.
