Claude " Butch" Collins

Claude Franklin “Butch” Collins, 74, of Highland, Kansas, passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at his home.

Butch was born on June 19, 1940 in Sparks, Kansas the son of Wayne and Margaret King Collins. Butch was a welder at Midland Steel prior to going to work as a supervisor for the Doniphan County Road and Bridge Department until he retired.  He was a member of the White Cloud Christian Church, enjoyed camping and spending time with his family.

On December 16, 1960 he married Sharon Ann Watts at the White Cloud Christian Church. Survivors include his beloved wife, of fifty three years, Sharon of the home; son, Kevin (Sandy) Collins of Hiawatha, Kansas; daughters, Kim (Gregg) Dishon of Horton, Kansas; Kristie (Brian) Klaus of Troy, Kansas; seven brothers, Len Collins of St. Joseph, Missouri, Dan Collins of Highland, Kansas, Ed Collins of Troy, Kansas, Bill Collins of Hiawatha, Kansas, Rick Collins of Wathena, Kansas, Randy Collins of Hiawatha, Kansas and Tim Collins of Highland, Kansas; six sisters, Barb Edie of Highland, Kansas, Pat Pfaffly of Kansas City, Missouri, Margaret Brassfield of Hiawatha, Kansas, Sue Hall of Powhattan, Kansas, Kathy Campbell of Troy, Kansas and Anita Rounds of Lexington, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Tiffinie Sourk, Telisa Merrill, Tristan Collins, Wade Klaus, Whitlea Klaus, Kayla Dishon, Ashley Dishon and Trey Dishon; nine great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Butch was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Jan Stonebarger and two brothers, David Collins and Denny Collins.

Funeral services will be at 2:30 P.M. on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Highland, Kansas where friends may call after 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday.  The family will greet friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Highland Cemetery.
