Duwane Charles Parkerson, 64, of Grimes, Iowa passed away Thursday, October 2, 2014 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston, IA.

He was born on September 30, 1950 in Wamego, Kansas the son of Charles and Lola Parkerson. Duwane graduated from Horton High School in 1968 and later attended Clarks Business School. Duwane married Lynn Stohs Christy on December 29, 1984. He worked in the trucking industry his whole life. Duwane was a member of the First Baptist Church in Horton, KS.

Duwane is survived by his wife, Lynn of Grimes, Iowa; mother, Lola Parkerson; siblings, Patricia (Gary) Anderson, Robert (Donna) Parkerson, Peggy (Rick) Schuetz, Cheryl Hobbs and Sherri Nelson and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Parkerson, Jr. and brother, Kevin Parkerson.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Horton, Kansas. Burial will follow at the Horton Cemetery.
