Virginia Lee (Hochstetler) Knight, 74, of Topeka, passed away Monday, October 6, 2014.

She was born March 8, 1940 in Horton, the daughter of Lloyd Arthur and Edna “Florence” (Sweezey) Hochstetler.

She was a graduate of Horton High School and worked for UDS 501 at French Middle School. 

Virginia married Jack Edward Knight on May 27, 1960 in Horton, Kansas. He preceded her in death on July 17, 2014.

Survivors include three sons, John (Lynn) Knight, Randy Knight and Gary Knight; four grandchildren, Alexis, Anna, Sarah and Laura Knight; and siblings, Lila Wilson, Sandy Meiners, and Steve Hochstetler. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Linda Polley and Larry Hochstetler.

A funeral ceremony will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 10, 2014, at Oakland Christian Church, 1001 NE Michigan Ave, Topeka, KS 66616. Interment will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. Virginia will lie in state after 3:00 p.m. Thursday at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th, Topeka, where the family will receive friends from 6:00-7:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Oakland Christian Church.
