Carl "Steve" Spencer, 62, of Wichita, Kansas, passed away on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at his home.

He was born on March 29, 1952 in Claremore, Oklahoma the son of Remell and Verda Wahwassuck Spencer. Steve was a member of the Kickapoo Tribe. He retired from McDonald Douglas as a plumber.

Steve is survived by a son, Stevie Spencer of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two daughters, Andrea Roberts of Owasso, Oklahoma and Crystal Spencer of Sperry, Oklahoma; four brothers, Larry Spencer of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Remell Spencer Jr. of Manford, Oklahoma, Kendall Spencer of Tulsa, Oklahoma and William Spencer of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two sisters, Patricia Spencer and Sharon Wofford both of Tulsa, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Devin King, Deidre King, Kendrick Spencer, Bryce Spencer, Kylee Rose, Trace Savin; 1 great grandson, Ayden King; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson of Mary Wahwassuck.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas. Burial will be at the Kennekuk Cemetery on the Kickapoo Reservation. A special message may be sent to the family at www.dishon-maple-chaney.com
