Louis David Blakley, 76, Atchison, Kansas died Friday, November 14, 2014 at Atchison Hospital.

Memorial services will be Friday, November 21, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home with Abbot Barnabas Senecal, OSB officiating.  Private family inurnment will be at a later date at Alderson Cemetery west of Atchison.  Memorial contributions are suggested to Atchison Animal Control or the ALS Foundation and may be left in care of the funeral home. David was born December 10, 1937 in Rushville, Missouri the son of Lewis and Zetta Woods Blakley.  He attended Rushville Elementary School and DeKalb High School.

He and Sharon M. Molt were united in marriage on December 19, 1958 in Troy, Kansas.

David served in the United States Marine Corp until his honorable discharge.
David worked with Pillsbury Milling Company in Atchison and then K. W. Dart in Kansas City, Missouri.  He then became employed with Unit Rail Anchor Company of Atchison serving with them as a supervisor until his retirement.

He was a member of St. Benedict Parish of Atchison.  In his free time he enjoyed tending his flowers in the yard, gardening and working outside and his dogs.  His greatest enjoyment was the time he spent with his spouse, children and grandchildren and extended family.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon M. Blakley of the couple’s home in Atchison, KS, three daughters, Angie (Steve) Reid, Newton, KS, Kim (Dan) Pruett, Lancaster, KS, Melissa Hale, Atchison, KS, two grandchildren, Cohen (Dani) Otte, Myka (Steven Sinclair) Vanderweide, great grandchildren, Graycie Mae Sinclair, Rohen Harper Otte, and two brothers, Glen (Kathy) Blakley, Rushville, MO, Donald (Judy) Blakley, Sun City, TX.

Preceding him in death was a daughter, Bridgette Blakley and a brother, Gunnar Blakley.
