Everett Lee Hyatt

Everett Lee Hyatt, 84, of Holton, KS passed away Monday, November 17, 2014 in Topeka. He was born April 21, 1930 in Topeka, KS, the son of Everett A. and Frances K. Deghand Hyatt. 

Everett had lived in Holton for over 50 years and had also lived in Circleville and Soldier. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Everett worked on the line crew and as construction foreman for United Telephone, which later became Sprint – Embarq – Century Link, retiring after 45 years.

He was married to Olive L. Place on June 23, 1956 in Holton. Olive passed away July 25, 2012. He was also preceded in death by his son, Ricky Dean Hyatt on November 8, 2008, his great-grandson, Grayson Harder on May 27, 2008 and his siblings, Jerry, Steve and Jim Hyatt and Pat Johnson. Survivors include his son, Randy Hyatt, Sr. of Holton, his sisters, Mary Bryant of Topeka, KS and Jeanette Jeffries of Camdenton, MO, 10 grandchildren, Casandra, Stephanie, Megan, Kristina, Randy Jr., Nicholas, Joseph, Katie, Crystalynn and Trae and 2 great-granddaughter and 1 great-grandson. 

Services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 21, 2014 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home. Interment will be in Olive Hill Cemetery west of Holton. Memorials may be given to Heart of Jackson Humane Society or Midland Hospice c/o Mercer Funeral Home, Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
