Timothy J Binder

 Timothy J Binder, 57, passed away Friday, Dec. 5, 2014, at his home in Vancouver, Wash. after a long battle with cancer.  He was born Dec. 21, 1956 and grew up in Table Rock. Tim graduated from Nebraska Christian high school, the University of Nebraska with a degree in agronomy and continued at the university's College of Law, graduating with a Juris Doctorate degree.  Following law school, he clerked for U.S. Magistrate Judge David L. Peister in Lincoln. Tim moved to Washington, D.C. to work for the U.S. Department of Agriculture in the Office of Counsel. 

He later transferred to the Department of Agriculture as counsel for Pacific Northwest in Portland, Ore.  While working in Portland, Tim also graduated from Western Seminary with a MDiv and pastored a church.  His last job saw him working for the Department of Transportation as the division counsel attorney for Western Federal Lands Highway Division in Vancouver. He earned several awards among which were  Western Human Resources Committee 2008 Employee of the Year and the Top Attorney of 2013 in the Federal Chief Counsel Office.

Tim was passionate about his devotion to God, family, and friends. He lived an authentic Christian life fueled by his deep love for Jesus that humbly overflowed into all his relationships.  He mentored and invested himself in the lives of others. He co-founded truthsaves.org and was actively involved in his church. 

Tim is preceded in death by his father, Leland Binder and one infant sister, Louise Binder. Tim is survived by his mother, Wilma Binder, Lincoln; sisters, Marjorie  (Gene) Mendicki of Oklahoma City; Barbara (Paul) Schaefer of Lincoln; Joy (Dale) Hall of Brandon, Fla.; Mary (Rafael) Restrepo of Torrevieja, Spain; Sharon (John) Balentine of Pensacola, Fla.; brother, Philip (Gwen) Binder of Ft. Smith, Ark.;  Mark (Karen) Binder of Muren, Mongolia and Lincoln;  numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends that he considered family.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 13, at Faith Baptist Church in Pawnee City, Nebraska. Register book available for signing on Friday, December 12, 2014 at Wherry Mortuary,  919 G Street, Pawnee City, Nebraska from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Interment immediately following in Table Rock Cemetery, Table Rock, Nebraska. In lieu of flowers, please direct memorials to Nebraska Christian Schools, The Leland and Wilma Binder scholarship at Bryan School of Nursing, The Salvation Army, or Samaritan's Purse.
