Rhonda S. Bare, 58, of Hiawatha, KS died peacefully at home surrounded by her family Friday morning, December 12, 2014.

She was born December 29, 1955 in Hiawatha, KS the daughter of Bob and Pauline Brook Blanton.  She grew up and attended schools in Hiawatha. She received her High School diploma through the SOS program in 1995 in Hiawatha.

Rhonda married Jeffrey Bare in Atchison, KS June 7, 1980.  He survives of the home.

Rhonda was involved with the community whether it was helping with fundraisers, walking for ALS, and fundraising for Relay for Life.  She enjoyed working with the Head Start kids while her children where involved with the program, card parties, sewing, and just doing nothing.  Rhonda worked for the Hiawatha Community Hospital for over 20 years.  She was a member of the First Christian Church in Hiawatha.

Other survivors include a daughter; Alicia and Arturo Moreno of Hiawatha, KS, a son; Jason and Maria Bare of Horton, KS, her mother; Pauline Blanton of Hiawatha, KS, sisters; Deborah Jadwin of Hiawatha, KS, Karen and Mike Farrell of Effingham, KS , brothers; Randy and Marcia Blanton of Hiawatha, KS, Travis Blanton of Hiawatha, KS, 6 grandchildren; Jody, Jessica, Dakota, Makayla, Alexander and Madyson.

She was preceded in death by her father, a daughter; Carrie Holtman, brother; Scott Blanton, and sister; Pamela Quaife.

Funeral Services are planned for 2 p.m., Monday, December 15, 2014 at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Hiawatha.  Pastor Dennis Fulbright of First Christian Church will officiate.  Interment will follow at the Hiawatha Cemetery.

Friends may call the funeral home after 12 noon Sunday.  The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time on Monday.  In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested in her name and may be sent in care of the funeral home, 124 S. 7th St.   Hiawatha, KS  66434.
