On December 25, 2014, the Lord Jesus called Therese M. Koch, 82, Holton, to be with him on his birthday in heaven. She had Alzheimer’s and was trying to recover from a stroke and a fall. Therese was born November 12, 1932, at St. Benedict, Kansas, to Leo and Anna Fangman Haverkamp.

She retired from HoltonCommunity Hospital.

Therese was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church in Holton and the Altar Society at the church.

She married Adrian Koch on November 25, 1950 at St. Benedict. He survives, of the home.

Therese was preceded in death by three brothers, Melvin, Marcellus "Sally" and Vincent Haverkamp.

Other survivors include a son, Alan (Cathy) Koch, St Inigoes, Maryland; a daughter, Marilyn Miles, Ozawkie; three granddaughters, Angela and Susan Koch, Jacksonville, Florida, and Tara (Miles) Anderson, Alma; three great-grandchildren, Ava, Conner and Emree; two sisters, Leanna Baker, Topeka and Lucille Kramer, Goodyear, Arizona, and two sisters-in-law, Annie Haverkamp and Dorothy Haverkamp, both of Seneca.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 30th at St. Dominic Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery at St. Benedict. Therese will lie in state at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Holton where a Parish Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, followed by visitation.
