Juanita J. Ahrens, 62, of Topeka died Friday morning, December 26, 2014 at the Countryside Health Center.

She was born June 12, 1952 in Pittsburg, KS the daughter of Alfred R. and Elizabeth M. Strube Ahrens. They moved to Powhattan, KS when she was 11years old and she continued her education at Sabetha, graduating from Sabetha High School.

Juanita graduated from Kansas State University with a BS in Home Economics, where she was also a member of the Delta Zeta Sorority. She later attended Emporia State University where she graduated with a BS in Accounting.

She worked in the Kansas City area in clothing retail. She later worked for a time at accounting firms.

She is survived by her brother, Timothy and Susan Ahrens of Ottawa, KS, a sister; Doris Ahrens of Manhattan, KS, nephews, Tyler and Tony Ahrens, and niece Amanda Ahrens all of Ottawa, KS.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, January 3, 2015 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Powhattan, KS. Private family inurnment will be held at a later date.
