Mary E. Shubert, 93, of Falls City, NE, formerly of Shubert, NE, passed away December 31, 2014 at Falls City. She was born March 2, 1921 at Nemaha, NE to the late Jess and Alice (Wolfe) Kennedy.

On October 29, 1939 she married Melvin “Bud” Shubert at Nemaha. He passed away January 9, 2000.

Mary was raised in Nemaha County, NE and graduated from the Shubert High School in 1938. The couple established their home northeast of Shubert when married. She was a farm wife and homemaker her entire life; moving to Falls City in September of 2009. She was a member of the Shubert Christian Church, taught Vacation Bible School, Church Pianist and Deaconess, Rebekah Lodge, CW Club of Nemaha.

Mary is survived by her son, Ronald and his wife Sandy of Shubert, daughter, Carole Williams and her husband Alan of Bethany, MO, five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, great-grandson, Greyson Shubert, brothers, Jesse, Norman, Clyde, Jim, Charlie and Lowell Kennedy and a sister, Loretta.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 5, 20015 at 11:00 AM at Shubert Christian Church with Pastors Gene Rowell and Willis Kennedy officiating. Interment will be in Prairie Union Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 3-4:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
