Marjorie Marie Bowen Wilson

Marjorie Marie Bowen was born on September 6, 1923, to Stephen G. and Vera C. Bowen north of Hiawatha, Kansas. She died on January 1, 2015.  Marjorie graduated from Reserve High School, then worked for Bierer’s Department store in Hiawatha.  She married George M. Wilson on November 23, 1941. George and Marjorie farmed north of Hiawatha until their retirement.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband George, her parents Stephen and Vera, a brother Donald, sisters Elizabeth and Mary Lou, and grandsons Michael and Philip Tubach.

Survivors include a daughter Marian Sue and Paul Tubach; sons Stephen and Annette Wilson and David and Debbie Wilson; grandchildren Douglas and Nicola Tubach, Danielle Tubach, Patrick and Tanis Tubach, Marc and Rebecca Gernon Wilson, Lisa and David Thompson, Robin and Chris Gilbert, Casey and Jory Collins; great-grandchildren Christa and Nicholas Tubach, Madison Tubach, Avery, Sam and Allie Tubach, Finn, Satchel and Oliver Wilson, Levi and Haley Thompson, Emma, Sophia and Jacob Gilbert, Jett and Jude Collins.

She was a member of the Zenith Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star and the First United Methodist Church.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at the First United Methodist Church on Monday, January 5, 2015, at 11:00 A.M. Family will meet with friends one hour prior to the service, with burial to follow at Hiawatha Cemetery. Friends may call the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Hiawatha after 12 Noon on Sunday.

Donations in her memory are suggested to the First United Methodist Church, Hiawatha Community Hospital or the Morrill Public Library and may be sent in care of the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home, 124 S. 7th St.  Hiawatha, KS  66434.
