Ronald Dee Holt, 54, of Holton, KS passed away at his home March 8, 2015 with his family by his side, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born November 17, 1960 in Des Moines, IA, the son of Donald Lee Holt, Sr. and Loyola (Spiker) Holt.

Ron graduated from Holton High School in 1980 and attended 4 years of sheet metal apprenticeship in Topeka. He worked various jobs in sheet metal, he also worked for Armstrong Tire in Muscotah and for Jackson Farmers Co-op in Holton. Ron built and raced race cars at Topeka Raceway and at Thunderhill Speed Way. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting. Ron attended 1^st Baptist Church in Holton.

He married Jean Marie Morford on February 26, 1983, they later divorced.

Survivors include his mother and step-father, Gerald and Loyola Holt-Ritenour of Holton; 2 daughters, Jennifer Metcalf and Cassity Holt both of Holton; a sister, LeAnn Holt of Caney; 2 brothers, Donald Holt, Jr. (Sharon) of Topeka and Rodney Holt (Carolyn) of Holton and 2 grandchildren, Clara Metcalf and Jamison Holt.

Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 16, 2015 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton.  Inurnment will follow in Holton Cemetery.  The family will greet friends Sunday afternoon from 3:00-5:00 p.m. Memorials are suggested to The American Cancer Society and may be left in care of Mercer Funeral Home, P.O.
