Lois Carmine

Lois Elizabeth (Farley) Carmine, 87, of rural Elk Creek, passed away March 9, 2015 at Belle Terrace in Tecumseh, NE. She was born to William and Lorena (Jobes) Farley on December 17, 1927 at Tecumseh, Nebraska. Lois attended Brush Hill rural elementary school and graduated from Tecumseh High School. 

She was united in marriage to Lorain Carmine on March 31, 1949 in Springfield, Illinois. To this union three sons were born, Ron, Larry and Jeff. 

Lois was a homemaker and enjoyed raising her family and taking care of her grandchildren. In her spare time, she did embroidery, made hundreds of rag rugs and loved doing puzzles. She will be fondly remembered for her baking, especially her hot rolls. Her husband Lorain passed away October 17, 1996. After his death Lois continued to live on the farm west of Elk Creek until her health declined and she became a resident of Belle Terrace in Tecumseh in July of 2013. 

She passed at Belle Terrace in Tecumseh, Nebraska on March 9, 2015 at the age of 87 years. 

Lois is survived by her sons, Larry Carmine and wife LuAnn and Jeff Carmine and wife Kristi of Tecumseh, seven grandchildren, Jamie Russell and husband David of Scottsdale, AZ, Matt Sedersten and wife Tina Sedersten of Otoe, Tim Carmine and wife Nicole of Lincoln, Brent Carmine of Liberty, MO, Stacy Brummond and husband Whit of Overland Park, KS, Mitch Sedersten and wife Megan of Tecumseh and Misty Sedersten of Tecumseh, 12 great-grandchildren, brother, Harlan Farley and wife Mary of Syracuse, nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lorain, son, Ronnie, step-grandson, Tony Carmine, brother, Charles Daryl Farley and wife Viola and sister, Arlene Pope and husband Bruce. 

Memorial services will be held at the United Methodist Church in Tecumseh, Nebraska, at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 13, 2015 with Pastor Rob Clark officiating. Visitation will be at the Wherry Mortuary in Tecumseh, Nebraska, Thursday, March 12, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with family greeting friends from 6-8 p.m. Memorials may go to the United Methodist Church, Tecumseh, Nebraska. Inurnment will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery, rural Elk Creek, Nebraska.
