Virginia Mae Solomon, 74, of White Cloud, died Wednesday morning, April 22, 2015, at her home surrounded by her family.

Virginia was born at Pawnee Indian Hospital at Pawnee, Oklahoma, January 16, 1932, one of two children born to Raymond and Elizabeth Morris Robinson.  She grew up in Osage County and attended Burbank, Oklahoma School until it closed in 1950, then attended Ponca city, Oklahoma Junior High School.  In 1952, she went to Chilocco Indian High School where she met her husband Eugene and they married in September 1955.They moved to California where they lived until moving to Kansas in 1990 where they lived and took care of her mother until her death in 1993.

Virginia was a member of the Iowa Tribe of Kansas and Nebraska.

Virginia and Eugene were blessed with two children:  Rebecca and Eugene Jr.

Survivors include her husband Eugene of the home; son Eugene Jr. of Robinson; grandchildren:  Kevin Solomon and Daniel Solomon, both of White Cloud, Polly Jones of Nocona, Texas, Thomas Solomon, Desiree Solomon, both of Chino Hills, California, Christine Solomon of Texas, a sister Stella Coble of Rulo, Nebraska.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her daughter Rebecca Solomon in 2007.

Virginia’s wish was to be cremated with services to be held at a later date.

Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Hiawatha is in charge of arrangements.
