Evelyn F. Domann

Evelyn F. Domann, 95, a longtime resident of the Winchester and Mooney Creek communities passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at her residence in Overland Park. She was a member of Corpus Christi Church in Mooney Creek for over 61 years and St. Casimir parish in Leavenworth for 14 years. Evelyn was devoted to her faith family.

Evelyn was born May 1, 1920 the daughter W.T. and Beatrice Amend Farris on their farmstead in Cummings, KS.  She was married to Claude F. Domann on November 29, 1939 and they were married 47 years before his passing on January 23, 1988. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Beverly Ann Lee in 2001,  a granddaughter, Jordyn Lee in 1981,  a sister, Helen Farris, two brothers, Elvin Harley Farris and Major Farris and two special childhood friends or “sisters”, Margie,  Jinks and Marie Sanders.

Evelyn was a avid reader, known for her excellent cooking and baking skills. She loved to help out on the farm, attending tractor pulls, she enjoyed playing cards, and was a passionate and devoted KU Jayhawk basketball fan.

Evelyn is survived by two daughters, Sharon Schrick, Overland Park, Marsha (Larry) Hogan, Leavenworth, one son, Elvin (Bernadine) Domann, Winchester, nine grandchildren, Mark Schrick, San Jose, CA, Sandra (Greg) Wuller, Overland Park, Brad (Susan) Schrick, Hiawatha, Todd (Teri) Domann, Louisburg, Chad Domann, Winchester, Travis Domann, Winchester, Kristin (Chad) Farr, Alma, CO, Jentry Lee (Jason) Hull, Walnut Creek, CA, and Branden Smith, Lawrence, 12 great-grandchildren, Alex, Valentina, Tyler and Alyse Schrick, Marissa and Madison Wuller, Shelby, Taylor, Nickolas and Sara Domann,  Brett and Miles Farr and many nieces and nephews. She will be missed by all her loving family and friends.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Friday at Corpus Christi Church in the Mooney Creek community of rural Winchester. A Parish Rosary will be recited at 6:00PM.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM, Saturday at Corpus Christi Church. Burial will follow at the Church Cemetery.  Memorials suggested to Catholic Charities Hospice or to the Corpus Christi Catholic Church and sent in care of Barnett Family Funeral Home, P.O.
