Mildred Strahm

Mildred Louise Strahm, 87, of Sabetha died Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at the Apostolic Christian Home in Sabetha.  She was born on May 8, 1928 the daughter of David C. Brunner and Susie (Aberle) Brunner at Sabetha, Kansas. She was raised in the Sabetha area and attended Harmony Grade School and graduated from Sabetha High School in 1946.  Mildred was a receptionist for Dr. Wrightman and continued to work at the Sabetha Clinic.     

Mildred was united in marriage to Walter W. Strahm on May 8, 1949.  Four children were born to this union, Arlinda, Marilyn, Clark and Sharon.  They began farming south of Sabetha.  After the children were grown she worked for eight years at the Buzz Café and 15 years in the Dietary Department at the Apostolic Christian Home.  Walter and Mildred retired from farming and they moved to Sabetha in 1987.  After Walter died in 2004, Mildred moved into the West Retirement Village.   She was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church in Sabetha.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter Strahm; one sister, Loree Plattner.  She is survived by three daughters, Arlinda Rokey of Sabetha, Marilyn Jones of Lawrence, Kansas and Sharon Mills of Sabetha; one son, Clark Strahm; one brother, Loren Brunner of Sabetha and 11 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. 

Funeral services will be held Friday, September 11, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Apostolic Christian Church in Sabetha.  A visitation will be from 9:30 until service time at the Apostolic Christian Church.  The interment will be made in the Sabetha Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Sabetha Community Hospital sent in care of the Popkess Mortuary, 823 Virginia Sabetha, Kansas  66534.  www.popkessmortuaries.com
