Anthony Brenner, 65, of Soldier, KS passed away Thursday, September 24, 2015 at Horton Hospital.

He was born August 27, 1950 in Topeka the son of Florene (Brenner) Scott.  He attended Soldier High School.  Anthony worked for the City of Soldier for 35 years as a meter reader and did odd jobs for people in the Soldier Community.  He also mowed, including the cemetery, was a janitor at Soldier United Methodist Church and took a lot of items to the auction east of Atchison.  He was a member of Soldier United Methodist Church.

Survivors include: his brother, James “Leon” Scott of Topeka, KS; his uncle, Calvin “Warren” Brenner of Topeka, KS; and several cousins including Cindy (Steve) Keeler of Tulsa, OK.  Anthony was preceded in death by his wife Marilyn Junod.

Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 2, 2015 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Inurnment will follow in Soldier Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 6-7 p.m. at the funeral home Thursday, October 1, 2015. Memorials are suggested to Soldier Community Center and may be left in care of Mercer Funeral Home, P.O.
