Richard Allen “Rick” Snider, Jr., was born in Salina, Kansas, May 22, 1956, one of three children born to Richard and Jessie (Barnes) Snider. He passed away on October 13, 2015, at the age of 59.

He served in the Navy from 1974 until 1984, stationed on air carriers the J.F. Kennedy, and the Midway during his service. Rick was an over-the-road truck driver for the past 30 years. He enjoyed fishing, watching sports, especially the KC Royals.

Surviving are his parents Richard & Jessie Snider of Hiawatha; son John (Kristen) Snider of Suffolk, VA; grandsons J.R. and Hunter. Also surviving are a brother Mark Steven Snider of Grand Island, NE; a sister Angel (Dale) Elliott of rural Hiawatha; nephew Jeremy (Nicole) Dolisi of Robinson; great-niece Shae; great-nephews Thane and Blade.

Cremation is planned with private inurnment at a later date at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Hiawatha. No services are planned at this time.
