Leo P. Mohrman, age 88, of St. Benedict, died Friday, October 16, 2015 at Life Care Center in Seneca.

He was born February 3, 1927 in St. Benedict, the son of Frank and Matilda Haug Mohrman. He grew up there and attended St. Mary’s School in St. Benedict. He worked at home and farmed on the family farm. They had a dairy operation and raised livestock.

 

Leo entered the Us. Army on December 7, 1945. He served as a military policeman. He guarded German prisoners in Linz, Austria, on the Danbu River. He was discharched from the Army in February 1947. Leo returned home and farmed the family farm. In 1947 he began driving a school bus for Gene Mulryan. In 1957 Leo and Wilfrid Bergman bought busses for school transportation in the St. Benedict area. In 1993 he sold his bus and retired.

He enjoyed farming, fishing, watching sports, doing carpenter work, and making furniture.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Elsie Scott and Lorena Ronnebaum.

Survivors include nieces and nephews.

Rosaries will be prayed at 4 PM on Sunday, October 18th at Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM on Monday, October 19, 2015 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in St. Benedict, Kansas.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Memorials may be left in Leo’s memory to St. Mary’s Cemetery in St. Benedict, sent in care of the family. Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca is in charge of arrangements.
