Frances J. Penny, 88, of Troy, Kansas passed away Friday, October 16, 2015 at the Shepherd House in St. Joseph, Missouri.

She was born March 7, 1927 in Highland, Kansas to Samuel F. (Papa Sam) and Eva June (Grandma June) Lewis.

Frances is a member of the First Baptist Church in Troy, Kansas

Frances married Wm. Burl Penny October 4, 1944. They spent most their married life in Troy.

Frances owned and operated Penny’s Beauty Shoppe in Troy for 20 years. Later she drove the Senior citizens bus for several years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, sisters, Charlotte Rich, Mary Frakes and Lela Lucas, brothers, Harold Lewis, Norman Lewis, Warren Lewis and Clyde Blanton.

She is survived by her sons;
Burl Wayne Penny (Donna) and Bill Penny both of Troy.
David Penny of St. Joseph, Missouri. 
Grandchildren, Crystal (Aaron) Duckworth, Kansas City, Missouri; Nathan (Miranda) Penny, Troy, Kansas; Lorrie (Eric) Donaldson, Troy, Kansas and Leslie (Andy) Saunders, Rea, Missouri.
great-grandchildren, Jacob, Abigail and Isaac Duckworth; Grayden, Fletcher, Parker and Hudsen Penny; Cole Donaldson; AJ, Allie and Jake Saunders.
Sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Rhodd, White Cloud, Kansas
Also survived by an adopted son, Burl Wallace (Vicky) Swanson of Dewittville, New York.
