 Janet D. Williams-Bey, 50, Atchison, Kansas died Friday, October 16, 2015 at Atchison Senior Village.

Funeral services will be Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home with Pastor Kenny Smith officiating.  Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.  Visitation with the family will be Saturday, Oct. 24th from 12:30 until time of services at the funeral home.  Online condolences may be left at www.arensbergpruett.com.


Janet was born June 8, 1965 in Atchison, Kansas the daughter of Donald and Ivanola Smith Williams-Bey.  She attended Atchison public schools, graduating from Atchison High School in 1983 and then attended Washburn University.

Janet was formerly employed with the J.C. Penney Company as a clerk in Kansas City, Kansas.
In her spare time she enjoyed listening to music and was an accomplished violinist.  She was well advanced in the technology world of computers and social media.  She was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Survivors include two sons, Rahim Sayles, Wichita, KS, Jamaal Sayles, Kansas City, KS, a daughter, Jamila Bey, Wichita, KS, her father, Donald (Mary Lou Boldridge) Williams-Bey, Atchison, KS, two brothers, Donald (Betty) Bey, St. Joseph, MO, Ron (Angie) Bey, Kansas City, KS and a sister, Ruthie Bey, Kansas City, MO.

She was preceded in death by her mother Ivanola Williams-Bey, and a sister, Beverly Bey.
