Gary Lorraine Herrick, 74, of Table Rock, Nebraska was born on August 15, 1941 in Pawnee City, Nebraska, to Howard and Marguerite (Clark) Herrick. He passed away at the Pawnee City Manor on Monday, October 26, 2015.

Gary lived the first nine years of his life on a farm north of Table Rock.  He began his education at Wood Hill School, which he attended several years.  In 1950, the Herrick family purchased a farm west of Table Rock, where Gary lived the rest of his life.  He attended the rest of his school years at Table Rock Public Schools, graduating in 1960.

Following graduation, Gary joined the Army Reserves, where he served his country as a reservist for six years.  He worked many years for Binder Bros in Table Rock. where he drove a cement truck and was a familiar face to customers at the lumberyard.  Gary also worked for some time for Lynn Binder and Kim Binder.  His last job was farming at home with his two brothers.  Gary’s health began to fail, so he was unable to farm the last few years of his life.  In February of 2015, Gary moved to the Pawnee Manor, where he lived until his death.

Gary was a kind man with a big heart.  He would do anything for someone needing help.  He will be fondly remembered as a wonderful uncle by his nieces & nephews who spent time on the farm.

He will be greatly missed by family, neighbors and friends.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by one sister; Nancy and Wayne Schulenberg of Table Rock, NE, brothers; Lonnie and Fran Herrick of Steinauer, NE,  Dale Herrick of Table Rock, NE, nieces and nephews; Bradley Brewer, Teri (Scott) Persigehl, Dee (Matt) Kuhlmann, Jody (Chad) Ketter, Kelly (Bruce) Kohmetscher, John Herrick, 13 great-nieces and nephews and one great-great nephew.

Funeral services 10:30 a.m., Friday, October 30, 2015, Wherry Mortuary, 919 G Street, Pawnee City, Nebraska.  Pastor Howard Blecha officiating.  Visitation on Thursday, October 29, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Wherry Mortuary, Pawnee City, Nebraska.  Interment at Table Rock Cemetery, Table Rock, Nebraska.  Memorials to family choice.
