Violet Florine Harden, 95, of Lancaster, KS died Friday, October 30, 2015 at the Atchison Senior Village.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am on Monday, Nov.2nd, 2015 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Lancaster, KS, with Sister Mary Aire officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Huron Cemetery.   Memorial contributions are suggested to St. John’s Lutheran Church and may be sent in care of the funeral home.  Online condolences may be left at www.beckerdyer.com.

Violet was born on November 30, 1919 in Everest, KS the daughter of Henry and Bena (Dahl) Stirton.  She was a farmer’s housewife and homemaker.  Violet was a member of St, John’s Lutheran Church Lancaster, KS, Memorial Club of Old Huron and Rebekahs.  Violet enjoyed flowers, gardening, and birds, working and providing for her family.

Violet married Charles Garold Harden on March 25, 1938 in Effingham, KS; he preceded her in death on April 28, 1969.  Survivors include four sons; Charles (Mary) Harden, Mayette, KS, Gary Harden, Lancaster, KS, Dean (Pam) Harden, Everest, KS, Allen (Cindy) Harden Lancaster, KS, four daughters; June Scholz, Lancaster, KS, Boots Bowen, Parkville, MO, Joyce (Bob) Smith, Kearney, MO, Donna (Gary) Hegwood, Lancaster, KS, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, a stillborn daughter Barbara, four brothers; William, Charles, Ralph, Harold Stirton, two sisters; Bertha Wilson, and Mable Jones.
