Elaine Marie Ronnebaum, age 48, died peacefully on October 31, 2015 at her home in Lenexa, Kansas, after a long battle with cancer. Elaine was born on July 27, 1967, in Seneca, Kansas, the daughter of William F. and Elsie Mohrman Scott. Elaine graduated from B&B High School in 1985.

In 1985, Elaine married the love of her life Lynn J. Ronnebaum in St. Benedict, Kansas. After getting married they soon moved to Sabetha, Kansas and purchased Flenties. Shortly after they also purchased stores in St. Joseph and Maryville, Missouri. They worked side-by-side for eight years before selling the businesses and moved to Lenexa, Kansas. She then was able to focus on what meant the most to her, family. Elaine was a stay at home mother for many years then decided to go back to work at Lincoln Financial where she met many of her very close friends.

Elaine thoroughly enjoyed her children’s activities, traveling and the Kansas City Royals. She was the definition of selfless and a true inspiration to all that knew her. Every day she showed us how to live life to it’s fullest and how to take on cancer with a fighting spirit and grace. For all that knew her she will be forever known as making their life colorful.

She is preceded in death by her parents and sister Renee Koch.

She is survived by her husband, Lynn and her two children, Samantha and Matthew Ronnebaum of Lenexa, Kansas. Brothers Leon Scott and Mike Scott of St. Benedict, Kansas. Sisters Janette Holsapple of Marysville, Kansas; Maryilyn Kohake of Axtell, Kansas; Linda Schmelzle, Betty Roeder, and Carol Wilhelm of Seneca, Kansas.

Rosary will be prayed at 5:00 PM with a visitation to follow until 8:00 PM, Monday November 2, 2015 at Porter Funeral Home in Lenexa. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Storey at 11:00 AM on November 3, 2015 at St. Mary’s Church in St. Benedict. Her husband and children will complete draping of the pall. Burial will be held in the St. Mary’s Church Cemetery. porterfuneralhome.com
