Jere Bleier

Jere P. Bleier, 81, of Holton, died Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at Medicalodges Jackson County in Holton.

He was born November 17, 1933 in Topeka, the son of George C. and Marguerite Beseau Bleier.  He graduated from Seaman High School in 1953 and served in the U.S. Army in Korea from 1953 to 1955.

After being discharged from the Army Jere was a meat cutter.  He and his wife then owned and operated Jere's Thrif-Tee grocery store in Nortonville from 1972 to 1996.  After retirement they moved to Holton.

Jere was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church in Holton and Holton Knights of Columbus Council No. 4219.

Jere married Marjene Tyner on November 8, 1958 at Assumption Catholic Church in Topeka.  She survives, of the home.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers, George B. Bleier, Bill Bleier and Larry Bleier.

Other survivors include two sons, Scott Bleier and wife Ampera, Mason City, IA, and Ben Bleier and wife Karen, Kansas City, KS; two daughters, Jeanie Lollar, Oskaloosa, and Joni Bleier, Kansas City, MO; three grandsons, two granddaughters and three great grandsons.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 16th at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Holton.  Burial will be at a later date.
