Willa “Billie” Yarpe, 80 of Lincoln, Nebraska formerly of Burchard, Nebraska passed away Saturday, December 5, 2015 at Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital, St. Jane de Chantel long term care facility in Lincoln.

Billie was born on January 30, 1935 to William and Marie (Shearer) Yarpe at Burchard, Nebraska.  Billie lived most of her life in the Burchard vicinity.  Billie, along with her mother, moved to “The Victorian” living facility in January 1999.  Billie lived there until May 2012 after Billie had fallen and broken her hip.  At that time she moved to the Madonna, St. Jane de Chantel long term facility until her death.

She was a member of United Methodist Church of Burchard. She loved being involved in the Burchard Community.

She loved music, would sing and dance.  She knew words to  most hymns and popular songs of her time.  She made so many friends along her life’s journey.  People loved her happy, funny, friendly personality.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Marie Yarpe.

She is survived by her sisters, Betty Buman and Jane McKnight both of Lincoln, many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

Funeral services 10:30 a.m., Thursday, December 10, 2015 at Wherry Mortuary, Pawnee City, Nebraska.  Reverend Sherry Sklenar will be officiating.  Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. to 8 p.m. and visitation one hour before service, with family greeting friends at that time, at Wherry Mortuary, 919 G Street, Pawnee City, Nebraska.  Interment at Burchard Cemetery, Burchard, Nebraska.  Memorials to Madonna Foundation, 5401 South St, Lincoln, Nebraska 68506.    On line condolence may be left at www.wherrymortuary.com
