Belva Dean Clary

Belva Dean Clary, 87, of Lawrence, Kansas passed away Monday, December 7, 2015, at the Bridge Haven Care Cottage. 

Belva was born on March 29, 1928 in Doniphan, Kansas, to Frank A. and Mary Mae (Aldridge) Carter. 

Belva worked as a telephone operator in Troy, Kansas, from the late 1940’s, until 1956, when she became a fulltime mother. In the late 1960’s she returned to work as a school secretary for the Salt Creek Valley School, Rural Leavenworth, until retirement. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and the First Christian Church of Leavenworth, Kansas. 

Belva married Ray Eugene Clary on August 5, 1950 in Washington County, Arkansas. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents. 

Survivors; daughters, Brenda Clary (Nancy Kelley), Lawrence, Kansas; 

Karen Malbrough (Larry), Leavenworth, Kansas; 

Grandchildren, Connie, Kala and Zachary Malbrough; 

Great-granddaughter, Aria Malbrough all of Leavenworth, Kansas. 

Belva spent her last years in the comfort, dignity and peace of Care Cottage, and her family is grateful to the Care Cottage Staff and VNA Hospice for their loving care. 

Funeral Service: 1:00 P.M. Friday, December 11, 2015 

At the Harman-Rohde Funeral Home, Troy, Kansas. 

Visitation: 5-7 Thursday evening at the funeral home, where friends may call after 9 A.M. Thursday. 

Burial: Mount Olive Cemetery, Troy, Kansas
